They came to CAPITAL in May 2022 from working in a variety of organisations using their lived experience. They progressed from being an Expert by Experience (EbE) to become a mentor for new EbEs in the Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust, and their work included chairing some of the Trust’s Working Together Groups, and leading coproduction for a successful suicide prevention project. They used lived experience spanning suicide related topics, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, domestic abuse, being an unpaid carer, being LGBTQI+, all from a perspective of being on the autism spectrum.

They coproduced and co-delivered training for lived experience Influencers at the National Suicide Prevention Alliance (NSPA), supporting the NSPA to build on the training that Catherine had completed in 2019 before taking on several assignments as a lived experience Influencer, addressing suicidality, caring for someone at risk of suicide, and being bereaved by suicide.
